The Plant Introduction Garden was established in Chico by the Department of Agriculture in 1904 to evaluate, propagate and distribute plant accessions from other countries. Emphasis on deciduous stone fruits and nuts developed during the early years. The garden was closed in 1973. This collection includes visitors record books and records of plantings. Also included are summaries of reports to the weather bureau on temperature and precipitation, soil thermograph records, and samples of hydro-thermograph charts.
